Moline, IL. Carlos Zamora, age 59, formerly of Salvatierra, Gto., Mexico, passed away Friday morning, November 29, 2024.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Jackeline, and his three children: Carlos (29), Pamela (26), and Maximiliano (20). A family man through and through, he began his life in a small town in Mexico where he was well-known and well-liked throughout the community. He immigrated to the United States in the early 90's, where he built a home for his family.
Never a shy man, he established many friendships, becoming a source of support for many in the community. His attitude and resourcefulness helped make him a pillar in the Mexican community in Moline. He worked various jobs, from forklift operator to line supervisor, to provide for his wife and children. Carlos was passionate about many things, from his sports teams - Club America and the Green Bay Packers - to even Pokémon Go. All he did was both for and with his family.
Carlos bravely fought both leukemia and lymphoma for many months before his unfortunate passing. Throughout his battle, he was a model of strength and poise, never complaining and always maintaining his love and faith in his family. There will be no funeral services as per his wishes, but a ceremonial mass is scheduled for Saturday, 9:30 at Sacred Heart in Moline. He is loved and missed.
