Bobby McNamar

Bobby Joe McNamar, 59, of Davenport, IA, passed away Thursday, August 7, 2025, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, IA.

 He was the husband of Stacey McNamar, and they shared 33 years of marriage.

Bobby was born in Des Moines, Iowa, to the late Billy McNamar and Bonita Richardson. 

He attended Scott Community College, where he studied art and graduated with honors. Over the years, Bobby became known as a jack of all trades, always ready to take on new projects and learn new skills.

He enjoyed traveling, gardening, and, most of all, spending time with his family. Bobby was a U.S. veteran and an active member of the VFW and Moose Lodge. He was proud to be involved in his community and valued the friendships he built through those connections.

Bobby is survived by his wife, Stacey McNamar; his children Derrick Wirtz-McNamar, Cody McNamar (Erika), Mariah Schieving (Patrick), and Casady Hayes (Nicholas); and his grandchildren Brynlee, Desmond, Wren, Macie, Sierra, Brandi, and Saige. He also leaves behind his brothers, Bryan McNamar (Teresa) and Bradley McNamar (Linda).

He will be remembered for his persistence, his straightforward nature, and his dedication to the people he loved.
