Barbara Ann Wolfe, 73, of Moline, IL, went to our Lord on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at Hope Creek Nursing & Rehab Center, East Moline, IL., after complications from surgeries.
Cremation will be directed by Mississippi Valley Cremation and Direct Burial, 1811 15th Street Place, Moline, IL.
Barb was born in Rock Island, IL, on 22 September 1951 to Mr. and Mrs. Thomas and Marilyn (Bierman) Slocum. She attended St. Malachy's Grade School and graduated from J.D. Darnall Sr. High School. She graduated from Northern Illinois University with a BA in English and a minor in History, as well as an MS in Library Science. Throughout the years, she worked at several different Libraries, including the Geneseo Library and ending at Oak Lawn Library, in Oak Lawn, IL. She married William Wolfe in Geneseo and divorced 7 years later. She was an overwhelming fountain of knowledge, and her specialty was research. She was a straight-A student and in the Honor Society. She was a member of St Malachy's Church and the Altar & Rosary Society Circle 14. She enjoyed reading, writing, and feeding the birds. She was the happiest when she had a book in her hands.
A Mass and Celebration of Life will be on 12 Jul 2025. Mass at St Malachy's Catholic Church, 595 Ogden Ave, Geneseo, IL at 5:00 pm followed by a dinner and Celebration of Life at 6:00 pm at Sweet Peas,1325 Oakwood Ave, Geneseo, IL.
Survivors include sister, Deborah Slocum, Moline, IL, brother, Thomas Slocum, Geneseo, IL, 2 nephews and 4 great-nephews, plus several cousins and a good friend to the end, Joyce Webb of Geneseo, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Marilyn Slocum of Geneseo, IL
