Arthur “John” Paulsen, age 72 of Davenport, IA, formerly of Bakersfield, CA, passed away on February 25, 2026.

John Paulsen was born on September 6, 1953, the son of Arthur John Paulsen and Betty (Dempsey) Paulsen in Davenport, IA

John spent most of his adult life in Bakersfield, CA, as a long-distance truck driver. He grew up an avid bowler and started playing golf as an adult with his son. John was also passionate about camping, fishing, cooking, and watching his son play hockey.

John is survived by his son Anthony Paulsen, of Burbank, CA, his brothers: Tim (Amy) Paulsen, and Gary Paulsen, his sister: Nancy (Mike) Caufield, all of Davenport, IA, numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and a nephew.

A private celebration will be held in the spring.
