Argus Leon Bunch

July 10, 1959 — June 2, 2025

Rock Island

Argus Leon Bunch, 65, of Rock Island, IL, passed away on Monday, June 2, 2025, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, IA. Cremation will be directed by Mississippi Valley Cremation and Direct Burial, Moline, IL.

Lee was such a good man, with a big heart and he loved his family and Jesus with all of it. He loved fishing and hunting and everything else the great outdoors had to offer, but what truely made Lee, Lee... he was the one you would call for a wise word, or his opinion, or for his endless knowledge of all things. You went to Lee when you needed something fixed, or wanted him to add his artistic touch. He was a man of many talents, but above all, you knew he would be there for you when you needed him.

He was a loving husband, and an amazing dad, even to those that weren't his. He is going to be terribly missed, but he would want you to be rejoicing instead of mourning, because he gets to be with Jesus now.

Lee's favorite verses:

Isaiah 1:18 NLT

[18] “Come now, let’s settle this,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, I will make them as white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, I will make them as white as wool.

Galatians 6:17 NLT

[17] From now on, don’t let anyone trouble me with these things. For I bear on my body the scars that show I belong to Jesus.

Some verses for comfort:

John 16:22 NLT

[22] So you have sorrow now, but I will see you again; then you will rejoice, and no one can rob you of that joy.

2 Corinthians 5:1 NLT

[1] For we know that when this earthly tent we live in is taken down (that is, when we die and leave this earthly body), we will have a house in heaven, an eternal body made for us by God himself and not by human hands.

Philippians 3:21 NLT

[21] He will take our weak mortal bodies and change them into glorious bodies like his own, using the same power with which he will bring everything under his control.

He is survived by his wife, Daphne, his children, Michael, Joshua, Jeremy, Amanda (David), Alicia, Jacob (Ashleigh), Randy, and Katy (Channing). His siblings, Wes (Karen), Shawn, Jason, Lisa, Jonette, Jennifer, and Jolene.

He also had tons of grandchildren, nieces and nephews he loved immensely!
